ATTIC INSULATION
Research by the Insulation Institute reveals that approximately 90% of South Florida residences lack adequate insulation.
According to U.S. Department of Energy, homes in the southern United States should contain 13-14 inches (R-38) of insulation material. This widespread under-insulation forces South Florida residents to pay excessive energy bills while enduring inconsistent indoor temperatures. Most homes likely face this issue unless recently upgraded. Current local construction regulations only enforce basic insulation requirements, falling short of modern energy efficiency standards recommended by industry professionals. This regulatory gap has allowed the insulation deficit to become increasingly prevalent.
